Alan Baker BSc PGCE(FE) Dip. Tui Na
-
Alan has been studying Taijiquan (Tai Chi Chuan), Qigong and related disciplines for more than twenty years. He has taught for Oxfordshire Adult Education for the past fifteen years and still runs regular classes throughout the county. Alan is also a practitioner of Tui Na (Chinese massage and acupressure) which is a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine. A member of the Chinese Internal Arts Association he is continuing to develop his Taiji under the tutelage of Karel Koscuba, an ‘indoor’ student of Grandmaster Chen Xiao Wang.
Though able to teach Taiji as a martial art, Alan’s main interest is in the promotion of health and personal development. The requirements of mental focus and meditation are particularly emphasised in his classes. Other than having studied with top level practitioners in the U.K. Alan has visited China several times to train with Chinese masters. Alan teaches both Yang and Chen style Taiji to an advanced level.
- This page lists all of the instructors, along with pictures etc.
- The transparent PNG files don't come out so well in IE6 or IE5. They work in IE7 or FireFox. Probably they will be photos eventually anyway, so that doesn't really matter -- it just looks a bit odd at the moment in those browsers.
